FastStep™

FastStep is an in situ-dilution method that enables stepped analyte gradient injections to be performed where the concentration of sample steps up, or down, according to a predefined profile without reliance on dispersive mixing in a flow channel. It is intended as a higher throughput alternative to multiple fixed concentration injections required by all other methods. The analyte concentration is modulated en route to the flow cell on-the-fly. This eliminates the overhead associated with multiple loading, injecting and clean up cycles making substantial reductions in time and complexity possible. The dissociation of analyte can be accurately estimated from a single dissociation phase curve recorded after the step injection is complete. FastStepTM eliminates the need for preparing dilution sets thereby reducing assay complexity while also improving the holding capacity of the sample rack. The sample throughput can be increased by >10-fold compared to conventional methods.
